Core Purpose

  • To work with the Kings Meadow Leadership team ensuring an ethos of Inclusion within the school and a culture of high aspirations for all students
  • To work with the Kings Meadow Leadership team to ensure the implementation of the SEND Policy.
  • To ensure that the provision of SEND support is in accordance with the vision and values of Kings Meadow School and all curriculum policies with due regard to the mental health and wellbeing of all students and staff
  • To ensure that King Meadow School’s practice is compliant with the SEND Code of Practice (2014) and other relevant statutory requirements
  • The SENDCO and Inclusion Lead will support the Headteacher in ensuring the safety of all students, and help to ensure they are able to access school and learning activities, thereby supporting the wider leadership team to secure success and improvement, ensuring high quality education for all students.
  • As a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL) the Senco will take a lead responsibility for safeguarding and child protection across the school.
  • They will advise and support other members of staff on child welfare and child protection matters, and liaise with relevant agencies such as the local authority and police.
