Manor School

Hours: 27.5 hours a week (Full time or Part time) 

Salary: FTE £28,000-£43,685 (MPS/UPS) 

An additional TLR payment is possible for a suitable candidate who could fulfil the role of Assistant Curriculum Leader or Progress Leader for Sixth Form.  

The Role: 

To support the department in delivering and developing the teaching and learning of Religious Education / Culture & Ethics in accordance with school policies and in pursuit of the highest standards of student achievement. 

Key Tasks: 

  • Prepare and deliver lessons to a range of classes of different ages and abilities 
  • Mark work, give appropriate feedback and maintain records of pupils’ progress and development 
  • Research new topic areas, maintaining up-to-date subject knowledge, and devise and write new curriculum materials 
  • Prepare pupils for qualifications and external examinations 
  • Manage pupil behaviour in the classroom and on school premises, and apply appropriate and effective measures in cases of misbehaviour 
  • Communicate with parents and carers over pupils’ progress 

About You: 

  • Well-qualified graduate with appropriate degree 
  • PGCE/Qualified Teacher Status 
  • Experience with curriculum development work 
  • Experience and ability to teach beyond RE/Culture & Ethics 
  • Experience across the age and ability range 
  • Ability to work in a team Excellent classroom skills 
  • Creativity and flexibility 
  • Commitment to developing teaching and learning
