Job ID no. VR12243

Ashton Church of England Primary School

We are a small and welcoming team who all work together to achieve the best for our children and families.  In a recent staff survey all of the staff said that they enjoyed working at our school and this shines through on a daily basis in their work.  We are all proud of our school and would love to meet you if you are interested in coming to join us!

We are looking for a teacher to come and share the teaching responsibility for our Infant Class. Our Infant Class is a mixed age Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 class and so excellent knowledge of the EYFS and KS1 curriculum is essential.  Currently there are 13 children in the class and a full time teaching assistant to support.  The children have access to the continuous provision and teacher-led inputs and groups throughout the day.  Therefore, someone with lots of creativity and ideas to engage our children, as well as someone who is good at plate-spinning and managing different curriculums within one class is essential.

The working days for the role are Thursdays and Fridays and then one afternoon – ideally a Tuesday, but can be negotiated for PPA and subject leader time.  We invest in shared PPA with the teacher who teaches the beginning of the week to enable a smooth transition for the teaching week and to ensure and develop a teaching partnership.

As a small school, we all share subject leader responsibilities.  Therefore, someone who is interested in leading maths and/or geography in our school would be ideal, but we can also negotiate this.  We have a strong partnership with another small primary school nearby and teachers work together a lot to share workload, ideas and resources.

Visits to our “hidden gem” are actively encouraged to come and see for yourself what a special place we are.  Please ring in and book onto one of our sessions to come and look around – or if you need a different time, please let us know and we would be happy to arrange a suitable alternative.

The dates we have arranged are:

Friday 3rd May 1.30pm

Thursday 9th May 1.30pm and 4pm

Tuesday 14th May 11am and 2pm

The closing date for applications is Thursday 16th May at 12noon, with interviews being held on Monday 20th May.  Shortlisted candidates will be emailed as soon as possible to give details of their interview.

Should you have any questions, please get in touch via our office:

Our School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff to share this commitment.  All appointments will be subject to an enhanced DBS disclosure.

We look forward to meeting you and showing you around our school.
