Job ID no. VR7642

Kings Meadow School

We are looking for enthusiastic and committed permanent Teaching Assistants, to join our small, supportive team.

If you would like to make a difference to vulnerable children and their families and develop your professional skills, we would like to hear from you. We are a small, friendly special school in Moulton with an intake of 40 children who have social, emotional and mental health and other complex needs. We take children from all over the county but predominantly Northampton and the south. Our aim is to provide a warm, nurturing environment with a family atmosphere. We have small classes of eight children with one teacher and a minimum of two teaching assistants per class.

You will be someone who has experience of working with primary aged children and/or with children with special educational needs. Alternatively, you may have experience of working with young people or adults with mental health difficulties. You will want to support each child in a holistic way, learning and understanding about the whole child and their circumstances in order to build a positive relationship and provide individualised support. A sense of humour also helps!

Teaching Assistants are a very important part of our class teams. You will be assigned a mentor and induction and training will be provided.

For this role, we are ideally looking for someone to work full time, 36 hours per week, 38 weeks term time plus 5 training days. However, applications for part-time working will be considered.

Visits to see the school are warmly welcomed as are telephone conversations to find out more about the role. Please call 01604 673730 for more details.

Kings Meadow School is committed to Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and all staff and volunteers are expected to share this commitment.  The successful candidates will be required to complete an enhanced DBS disclosure.
