Latimer Arts College

Required for September 2024

Full Time

Would you like to be part of a school recently confirmed as GOOD by Ofsted (April 2023)?

Pupils are happy to attend this school. The school’s values include honesty, excellence, ambition, respect and teamwork. The school’s culture is rooted in these values. There are positive relationships between staff and pupils. Staff have high expectations, and pupils live up to these.

Staff are proud to work at the school. They feel well supported by leaders in respect of workload, well-being and managing pupils’ behaviour. Staff value the professional development they receive.

If so, you will not want to miss out on this opportunity to join our growing Social Studies Department.

We are delighted to be able to offer an exciting opportunity for a colleague to join our growing Social Studies faculty. This currently comprises Health & Social Care and Psychology at KS4 & 5, Sociology and Criminology at KS5 and Religious Studies at all key stages.

Why come to Latimer?  This is a fantastic school to work in: as a result of our success and popularity we are over-subscribed and have a very strong local reputation.  On interview we ask candidates for their impressions and without fail they comment on how wonderful our students are, the supportive team ethos amongst staff and how friendly the welcome is.

We are a tight-knit unit striving for the very best for our students and we are focussed on, and passionate about, learning and success.

We genuinely care about our staff, their well-being and their professional development: we are a happy team, committed to working collaboratively and sharing the very best practice.   We have a strong track record of succession planning and many of our current staff have progressed internally to promoted posts.

If you are an outstanding teacher it really is worth applying for this post.  We are seeking to appoint a candidate who has experience of, or a willingness to, teach the following: Criminology at KS5 and Psychology at either KS4 or 5.

We welcome applications from ECTs and we run a highly supportive and successful Early Career Framework programme. If you are a trainee and looking for a post from September 2024, we would love to hear from you.   We also have a strong track record of leadership development and succession planning and would be interested in an ambitious candidate who is keen to progress to leadership in the future.

For an application form and further details, please visit the teaching vacancies page on our website www.latimer.org.uk.  Alternatively, please email vacancies@latimer.org.uk.

Closing Date: 9.00 am on Monday 13 May 2024

Early applications are encouraged as we will review applications as we receive them; and applicants may be contacted before the closing date.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.  This post will be subject to an enhanced DBS disclosure.

The Latimer Arts College values the diversity of our workforce and welcomes applications from all sectors of the community.
