The pupils, parents and governors of Barby C of E Primary School are seeking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to join our team.

We seek to appoint someone with experience of current and best practice in primary school education who can provide creative, innovative and engaging learning opportunities that encourage pupils to become inquisitive, confident, life-long learners. You will be innovative, inspirational and passionate, with a working knowledge of teaching, learning and assessment in the Primary phase. This post will involve supporting teaching and learning alongside teachers and running targeted interventions for identified pupils.

We have excellent collaborative working relationships with the local cluster of schools and the Diocese of Peterborough which have all contributed to the improvements that we celebrate. We are a school that does not believe in standing still; providing opportunities for continuing professional development is an important part of our culture.

In order to be successful in the shortlisting process, you will need to meet the ‘Essential’ requirements of the role as detailed in the Person Specification. The selection process will consist of an observation and an interview. It will assess your experience in and understanding of teaching, learning and assessment and your suitability to work with children.

If you are shortlisted, we will take up any discrepancies or anomalies from the information provided, including references, at interview. The successful applicant will be required to apply for an enhanced DBS disclosure.
