Sponne School

Sponne is an outstanding community comprehensive school with some 1490 students aged 11-18 on roll with 170 staff.  The school is part of Tove Learning Trust, comprising of thirteen schools and also has a training school and the Grand Union Training Partnership on site.

Due to our current expanding needs in Science, we are seeking to appoint an inspirational teacher (preferably physics specialism) within our outstanding faculty for January 2024.  The successful candidate will, ideally, have experience and a proven record of achieving high outcomes in the teaching of GCSE Science and preferably A Level. They will have excellent interpersonal skills and, together with the other Science teachers, maintain a relentless focus on teaching and learning and raising achievement.

We welcome applications from ECTs and experienced colleagues.  All students in years 7 to 11 study Science with more than 25% completing the three separate Sciences at GCSE. Science outcomes are high and all three sciences are very popular at A Level. The faculty is friendly and supportive with excellent facilities. Students are enthusiastic, hardworking and grateful for the education and opportunities they receive.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have Qualified Teacher Status
  • Have excellent teaching skills
  • Have a desire to make a difference to the learning of students
  • Meet the person specification and will be required to apply for DBS clearance.
  • Candidates must be eligible to live and work in the UK.
