Simon De Senlis Primary School

The successful candidate will have experience in working with children and families and be passionate about improving the outcomes for young people.  Working alongside our children, families and staff to ensure ongoing welfare needs are met and that families can access any support they need. They will be able to work effectively as a member of the team, have excellent interpersonal skills and consistently support the school values and approaches.

Simon de Senlis is a happy and successful primary school in East Hunsbury, Northampton with around 430 pupils on roll.  We were exceptionally proud in March 2024 to be graded as OUTSTANDING in all areas by Ofsted. The Ofsted report is a delight to read and in particular, please note Ofsted’s following statement-

Every pupil knows that they matter, and they can flourish because of the dedicated staff at Simon de Senlis Primary School. An exceptional ethos of deep care and high ambition is threaded through every aspect of school life. Because of this, pupils love coming to a school, where they can ‘believe, achieve, and succeed’. One pupil summed up what is felt by many, ‘Everybody respects everyone here.’ Pupils feel safe and learn how to keep safe. Parents and carers appreciate what many describe as ‘this wonderful school’.

At Simon de Senlis, we are passionate about learning.  Through our distinct approach to learning, driven by inspiration, high expectations and innovation, we are building a community of responsible, determined, aspirational, healthy and happy learners who make a positive ‘dent in the universe’.

Please visit our website where you can find out more about how our children learn on our class blogs at simondesenlisblogs.org.  You can also follow us on Twitter at @SDSPrimary or Facebook at SimondeSenlis

As part of the Northampton Primary Academy Trust, Simon de Senlis is an exciting place to work; whether it be through our work as a Flagship School for Inclusion, as part of our work with Microsoft as a Microsoft Showcase School or via our involvement in the Arts and Sport, we continue to strive to improve the attainment and progress of pupils within a creative and vibrant learning atmosphere.  In return, we can offer you a great team of professionals, ongoing and continued CPD, children with outstanding behaviour and a supportive school community.

In order to be successful in the shortlisting process, you will need to meet the ‘Essential’ requirements of the role as detailed in the Person Specification.  The selection process will consist of an observation, an interview and a reflection task which will give you the opportunity to show your enthusiasm for teaching.  The successful applicant will be required to apply for an enhanced DBS disclosure.  We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our children and expect all members of staff to share this commitment.
