As a Mechanics Teacher, you will play a vital role in engaging students through the delivery of engaging motor vehicle and mechanical workshops. Working in small groups, you will support learners in building confidence, developing new skills, and working towards recognised qualifications.
Key Responsibilities:
Initiating and encouraging children to engage in the agreed school curriculum and schemes of work. You must be well-planned, engaging and creative and support for children should be provided. You will be expected to contribute fully to the school process of self-evaluation and development, as well as having regard for you own professional development. The ideal candidate will have:
- A strong knowledge of Motor Vehicle programmes of study (such as City and Guilds or IMI)
- Relevant qualifications
- Experience in teaching Mechanics
- A firm understanding of the Safeguarding and Welfare Requirements
- A genuine passion for working with children with the commitment that the children are at the centre of everything you do
- Excellent communication skills with children, their families and your colleagues
Requirements Qualified and Unqualified Teachers
- Candidates with the relevant experience and qualifications in mechanics. The successful candidate would be employed as an unqualified teacher on salary scale UNQ1 £22,601 to UNQ 6 £35,259 plus SEND allowance of £2787
- QTS or a UK recognised equivalent teaching qualification would be employed on salary scale M1 £32,916 to M6 £45,352 plus SEND allowance of £2787
- At least 6 months experience working with children in the last 2 years
- Legal right to work in the UK
