Millbrook Infant School

Governing bodies play an essential role in the strategic leadership and management of the school. Their duties include management of the school budget, school effectiveness, strategic improvement planning and involvement in a variety of personnel issues. In your role as a school governor, you will be supported in these duties by other experienced members of the governing body, the Headteacher and North Northamptonshire Council.

Full governing body meetings take place 6 times a year and you will be required to attend as many of these as you can. Each governor also undertakes a specific area of responsibility which they monitor in school.  The governing body expects all new governors to attend training and agree to the Governors’ Code of Conduct.

You must be 18 or over to apply and must complete a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. We will provide new governor training to support the successful applicant.

If you are interested and would like to find out more, please email the school office on info@millbrook-inf.northants.sch.uk, who will forward your enquiry onto the Chair of Governors.
